Malaysia Kidslympic 2024: Building Champions for Tomorrow

Kuala Lumpur [28th December 2024] — Malaysia is set to witness an electrifying celebration of youth, sports, and community spirit with the Malaysia Kidslympic 2024, taking place on 28 and 29 December 2024 at the iconic PNB Ventures Merdeka Stadium.

This inaugural event, a first-of-its-kind in the nation, brings together 1,000 young athletes from across Malaysia to compete, learn, and grow through the power of sports, fostering values that will last a lifetime.

Malaysia Kidslympic 2024 will feature over 5 exciting sports disciplines, ranging from athletics, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and modern pentathlon to creative games aimed at developing motor skills and confidence amongst young participants.

Designed to inspire children aged 3 to 12 to embrace sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance while discovering their potential in a fun, inclusive environment, the event is poised to become a movement to instill the spirit of Olympism among future athletes.

“This is not just an event; this is the beginning of a movement—a movement to instill resilience, discipline, and the spirit of excellence in our children. Together, let us inspire a new generation of athletes who will carry the Malaysian flag to greater heights on the global stage,” said Dato Mohd Nazifuddin Najib, Secretary General of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).

“We’re excited to create a memorable experience for every child and their families.”

In celebrating the birth of Malaysia Kidslympic, Dato’ Mohd Nazifuddin paid tribute to the parents for their unwavering support in nurturing the champions of the future.

“Your role in nurturing your children’s talents and instilling confidence in them is instrumental in their success. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for our young athletes.

“Thank you for believing in your children. Thank you for showing them that every effort counts, that every dream is worth chasing. Your role is priceless in shaping their character and inspiring their greatness.” said Dato’ Nazifuddin.

Their contributions highlight a shared vision of fostering youth development and creating opportunities for young Malaysians to shine. This collaborative effort ensures that the event is accessible, impactful, and inclusive.

The highlights of the two-day event include:

  • Field of Play: Professionally designed arenas tailored for young athletes to compete safely and confidently. Expert coaches and volunteers will ensure each child enjoys a fulfilling and safe experience.
  • Kidslympic Café: A vibrant family-friendly zone offering a variety of nutritious snacks and beverages to keep everyone energized throughout the day.
  • Interactive Activities and Workshops: Hands-on booths promoting health, wellness, and the importance of staying active. Kids can learn from inspiring role models, including national athletes and fitness experts.
  • Parent Zone: A comfortable area for parents to relax, connect, and learn about supporting their children’s sports journey.

For Kidslympic 2024 icon, Goh Liu Ying OLY, it goes beyond an event.

“It’s a movement to cultivate grassroots talent and instill a lifelong passion for sports. The initiative aligns with the nation’s goal to nurture future sports stars and promote an active, healthy lifestyle among the younger generation.

“By giving children this platform, we’re not just building athletes but also instilling values that will help them succeed in life,” said the former Badminton Mixed Doubles specialist.

The Malaysia Kidslympic 2024 would not have been possible without the incredible support and partnership of PNB Merdeka Ventures. As the venue host and a key supporter, PNB Merdeka Ventures has provided the prestigious Stadium Merdeka, ensuring a world-class platform for young athletes to shine.
